How do you wash microfiber cloths?
And is it generally necessary to maintain microfiber cloths?
The quick and short answer is YES! Of course, you should maintain your microfiber cloths and towels as well as possible so that they retain their unique properties for many years to come.
If, for example, you use your cloths or towels to apply wax, quick detailers, paint sealants or similar, then it is inevitable that this will also transfer to your cloths.
This means that the water-repellent paint sealant you spray on your car also gets on your towels, and in this way you lose the drying ability of the microfiber.
Here are some tips and tricks for both your new and old microfiber cloths.
1. Always wash new microfiber towels before first use to remove any loose production fibers.
2. Always wash newer black, orange, and red towels separately from lighter towels to avoid the risk of bleeding.

Thorough cleaning-
- Machine wash in warm water with a mild, clean-rinsing liquid detergent that is as free of dyes and perfumes as possible
- Tumble dry low heat / no heat or hang to dry
- Do not iron
- Do not use any fabric softener, as this will clog the microfibers and reduce performance
- Do not use chlorine bleach, as this will degrade the fibers prematurely and reduce/eliminate the valuable dust and dirt collecting electrical charge from microfiber
- Wash only with other non-linting materials (NO cotton!) to maintain the correct water and dirt grabbing properties
- Sort microfiber towels according to your regular washing process:
- Do not wash brightly colored (red, orange) or black towels with lightly colored (light blue, yellow) or white towels, as bleeding may occur with newer towels.
GOOD ADVICE: Store used/dirty microfiber towels in a separate container from your regular laundry to reduce the risk of accidentally damaging your valuable microfiber by washing them together

If your microfiber cloths need a very thorough cleaning, it is recommended to fill a bucket with 5 liters of water.
Pour approximately 2-3 capfuls of Rags to Riches into the bucket. Mix it well and let your cloths soak for about 48 hours. Then wash them as usual in the washing machine with Rags to Riches and hang them to dry.
Depending on the quality of your microfiber cloths, you should have awakened new life in them.
